NYY-kabel wordt gebruikt als voedingskabel voor statische installaties, binnen, buiten, ondergronds, in beton en in water zonder mechanische schade.
Beheer van PVC-kabels bedoeld voor directe ingraving volgens VDE-norm HD 603/VDE 0276-603 - Deel 3-G (punt 4), ingegraven zonder aanvullende geschikte ondergrondse bescherming: normale minimale installatiediepte 0,6 m, maar minstens 0,8 m lager de weg
