Kabel NYY digunakan sebagai kabel catu daya untuk instalasi statis, di dalam ruangan, di luar ruangan, di bawah tanah, di beton dan di dalam air tanpa kerusakan mekanis.
Pengelolaan kabel PVC yang dimaksudkan untuk penguburan langsung sesuai dengan standar VDE HD 603/VDE 0276-603 - Bagian 3-G (poin 4), ditanam tanpa pelindung bawah tanah tambahan yang sesuai: kedalaman pemasangan minimum normal 0,6 m, tetapi setidaknya 0,8 m di bawah jalan

Arti Singkatan

N = Konduktor tembaga
Y= isolasi PVC
Y= Selubung PVC
O = Tidak ada bumi
J = Bumi hijau/kuning

Singkatan konduktor "re", "rm", "se", "sm":
r = bentuk konduktor bulat;
s = bentuk konduktor sektoral;
e = konduktor kawat tunggal;
m = konduktor multi-kawat;
