Application

Self-supporting isolated and projected SIP cable (ABC Cable) is a very innovative concept for overhead power distribution as compared to the conventional bare conductor overhead distribution system. It provides higher level of safety and reliability, lower power losses and ultimate system economy by reducing installation, maintenance and operative cost. Tano Cable Self-supporting isolated and projected cables are designed to supply 0.6/1kV, 20kV, 35kV aerial service for temporary service at construction sites, as a service drop (power pole to service entrance), as a secondary cable (pole to pole) or street lighting. This overhead cable provides reinforced insulation.

SIP Cable abbreviation

S – self-supporting;
I – insulated;
P – wire;
n, ng – does not support combustion.
A – aluminum conductor;
s – self-supporting wire;
XS – insulation made of cross-linked polyethylene;
n – does not support combustion.

The number in the wire marking indicates the type of construction.
SIP-1 – with a non-insulated neutral self-supporting conductor;
SIP-2 – with an insulated neutral self-supporting conductor;
SIP-3 – with protective insulation;
SIP-4 – without neutral self-supporting conductor with light-stabilized polyethylene insulation;
SIP-5 – without neutral self-supporting conductor, insulated with silanol-crosslinked light-stabilized polyethylene.
