Coppersteel conductors also called copper clad steel , CCS, copper coated steel , it can be used on various applications such as:
1. Distribution and transmission networks
- conductor on grounding grids
-overhead long-span and short-span conductors
- guard wire on transmission lines
- conductor in high theft-rate areas
-lightning arrester conductor
-messanger conductor on ABC lines
-guying wire
2. Telecom
- cable TV
-coaxial cable
-antenna cable
-drop wire
-audio and video components
3. Industry
-magnetic cables
-battery b
-wiring inside electrical transformers
-automotive cabling
-building wire
4. Electronics
-electronic components
-wire for resistors, capacitors and transistors(sizes 14 to 26 AWG)-main coaxial cable for LANs
Coppersteel conductors are made by a cladding process in which copper is uniformly and concentrically bonded to the steel, serving as the conductive element of the conductor and corrosion protection of the steel core. Coppersteel conductors may have a copper content between 14% and 50% of the entire cross-section, corresponding to an electrical conductivity between 21% and 53% IACS.
1. COPPERSTEEL WIRE
Coppersteel(CS) single wire and stranded conductors feature 21%,30%,40%,and 53% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard) conductivity.
2. COPPERSTEEL CABLE
With a perfect geometry and constant electrical and mechanical characteristics, the Coppersteel cable consists of 3 or 7-strand straight wiring. 19 and 37 wires formations subject to consultation.

Coppersteel is a bimetallic conductor combining steel’s mechanical properties with copper’s high conductivity. Each single Coppersteel wire provides the required tensile strength for an overhead conductor and is coated with electronically copper that makes it suitable for electrical use whether as bare or insulated overhead conductor. Coppersteel takes the best of both metals it’s made of. Coppersteel’s electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance equal those of bare copper conductors while its steel cores gives Coppersteel a much higher mechanical strength. Coppersteel is a low cost product suitable for use on ground grids, bare and insulated overhead copper lines, guying wire, guard conductor on transmission lines. In addition Coppersteel is an anti-theft product as it has NO scrap value. Copper is molecular bonded to steel and simply cannot be separated.
Coppersteel conductors meet all minimum requirements on bare copper or insulated copper lines, whether overground overhead, being also compatible with all existing copper accessories. Coppersteel's single wire can also feature conductivity as high as that of bare copper of the same diameter depending on the copper layer thickness. Such flexibility allows for an equally flexible network design that avoids excess material.
Coppersteel's mechanical resistance/weight ratio is considerably higher than that of any other conductors used on overhead and underground networks and this permissiveness the design of larger spans on overhead lines with safety. On Coppersteel conductors the modulus of elasticity and breaking load are those of the steel core, which permits operation under higher temperatures than those of bare copper(75℃). In some cases the temperature on a Coppersteel conductor can reach as high as 125℃.
