Application
CCS Copper Clad Steel Strand Wire also called copper coated steel wire , which combines the excellent electrical characteristics of copper wire with the nominal mechanical properties of steel wire. It is often used as overhead ground wire and messenger wire.Sometimes,it is also buried in ground grid system.
CCS can withstand mechanical damage during installation, as well as electrical damage during fault status. Considering the cost,copper plated steel wire has virtually no scrap value.And It is exceedingly difficult to cut with traditional cutting tools for cables,greatly reducing the possibility of theft.
Packing
Delivery lengths are determined from a consideration of such factors as physical drum dimensions, drum weights, span length and handling equipment.
Construction
Soft annealed CCS copper clad steel conductor is a concentric-lay stranded construction. The CCS strands have a 40% conductivity grade of material using a low carbon steel core which provides greater flexibility to enable easier handling when installed.
