Application

Utility companies have long employed spacer cable to increase the primary distribution networks' dependability and power quality while also strengthening their resistance to storm damage.
A utilities distribution system's cable design, system robustness, and compact architecture can also help to handle other potential issues. In order to address right-of-way issues and save money by lowering the number of poles needed, numerous circuits can be put on a single pole thanks to the compact configuration and lower clearance requirements.
The cost of expanding capacity can be significantly decreased by installing Over or Under Building Spacer Cable Systems in feeder circuits, alleyways, and substation exits.

Constructions

AAAC conductor in a single cable with a 2-layer covering, a 3-layer extruded shield, and a shield made of a semiconducting thermoset conductor that has been extruded.
Crosslinked polyethylene insulation makes up the inner layer of the covering, and track-resistant crosslinked polyethylene outer covering makes up the outside layer.
Each layer is joined by a bond.

Conductor:
AAC (1350-H19, compact stranded).

Conductor Shield:
Extruded semiconducting thermoplastic shield which is free stripping from the conductor and bonded to the covering.

Inner and Outer Covering:
2-layer crosslinked polyethylene covering (XLPE), where the outer layer is track-resistant (TK-XLPE). All layers are bonded together. The outer layer shall be black or gray, sunlight resistant and track resistant.
