Application

15kV Overhead Aerial Cable AAC 3-layer Track-resistant XLPE is is a pre-engineered electrical distribution system designed for high reliability, low operating costs, and improved right-of-way flexibility.

Tree Wire

It is laid flat in a tree wire power system in a way and spacing comparable to that of bare or covered overhead conductors on insulators. In this kind of installation, self-supporting conductors like ACSR are usual.

Spacer Cable

It is installed with a regular spacing in a diamond arrangement, which is maintained by spacer hardware, when used in a spacer cable power system. A bare messenger, such as bare aluminum-clad steel, ACSR, OPGW, or galvanized steel wire, supports the spacer and cable assembly. Spacer cable assemblies take up the least amount of room, necessitating the smallest right-of-way or corridor.

Constructions

A single cable with a conductor made entirely of aluminum, a 3-layer extruded shield and covering system made up of a 2-layer covering and an extruded semiconducting thermoset conductor shield. Crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) makes up the inner layer of the covering, and track-resistant crosslinked polyethylene (TK-XLPE) makes up the outside layer. Each layer is joined by a bond.

-Conductor:
AAC (1350-H19, compact stranded).

-Conductor Shield:
Extruded semiconducting thermoplastic shield which is free stripping from the conductor and bonded to the covering.

-Inner and Outer Covering:
2-layer crosslinked polyethylene covering (XLPE), where the outer layer is track-resistant (TK-XLPE). All layers are bonded together. The outer layer shall be black or gray, sunlight resistant and track resistant.
