Application

A pre-engineered electrical distribution system called Spacer Cable is created for high dependability, low operating costs, and more flexibility in right-of-way usage. In order to allow intermittent contact with ground points (tree branches, etc.) without triggering an outage or unwelcome tripping, the conductors are covered with two or three layers of polymer.
The material is immune to abrasion, electrical tracking, and UV deterioration. A high strength messenger that serves as a system neutral, mechanical support, and lightning shield wire supports the conductor. Under the messenger, the conductors are hung ad rift and held up by "spacers." In order to solve right-of-way issues, the messenger and conductors can be grouped together into a small space thanks to the covering's insulating characteristics.

Constructions

A single cable with an ACSR conductor, a 2-layer covering, and a 3-layer extruded shield and covering system made of a semiconducting thermoplastic conductor shield.
Low-, medium-, or high-density polyethylene (LDPE, MDPE, or HDPE) makes up the covering inner layer, while track-resistant medium- or high-density polyethylene (TK-MDPE or TK-HDPE) makes up the outer layer.
Each layer is joined by a bond.

Conductor:
AAC (1350-H19, compact stranded).

Conductor Shield:
Extruded semiconducting thermoplastic shield which is free stripping from the conductor and bonded to the covering.

Inner and Outer Covering:
2-layer low-, medium- or high-density polyethylene covering (LDPE, MDPE or HDPE), where the outer layer is track-resistant (TK-MDPE or TK-HDPE). All layers are bonded together. The outer layer shall be black or gray, sunlight resistant and track resistant.
