Application

An affordable, tough, and trustworthy alternative to labor-intensive cable in conduit wiring techniques is provided by Al Conductor AIA Cable Aluminum Interlocked Armor.
installed on supports that are no more than six feet apart, such as metal racks, troughs, raceways, cable trays, or brackets.
installed in wet or dry settings, wet or dry work, immediately buried or embedded in concrete, and exposed or concealed work.

Construction

Conductor:
A or B class ASTM B 231-compliant compressed concentric stranded aluminum alloy 1350. With conductor filling compound, stranded conductors are water-blocked.

Conductor Shield:
Insulation-bonding thermosetting extruded semiconducting cover that is free peeling from the conductor.

Insulation:
Tree-Retardant Cross-Linked Polyethylene (TRXLPE), as described in ANSI/ICEA S-94-649, is an extruded, unfilled material.

Insulation Shield:
Extruded thermosetting semiconducting shield with controlled adhesion to the insulation providing the required balance between electrical integrity and ease of stripping.

Metallic Shield:
The metallic shield is flat uncoated 5-mil thick copper tape helically applied with minimum 20% overlap.

Ground Wire:
Three bare copper ground wires placed at the interstice of the conductor.

Fillers:
Non hygroscopic fillers, forming a firm and cylindrical cable core.

Binder Tape:
A binder tape is applied to maintain core symmetry and mechanical stability.

Armor:
Aluminum Interlocked Armor applied over the binder tape of the cable core

Jacket:
Black, sunlight resistant, flame retardant PVC jacket
