Application
Optical Ground Wire OPGW is a dual functioning cable performing the duties of a ground wire and also providing a patch for the transmission of voice, video or data signals.

Construction
The central Al-covered steel tube is surrounded by single or double layers of AWA Alumoweld ACS or mix ACS wires and aluminium alloy wires.
Features
The transmission of optical fibers through overhead transmission towers has many advantages over underground optical fiber cables.
