Application

One new kind of overhead conductor is the STACIR/AW conductor.By using trapezoidal wire, the conductor's cross sectional area is increased, which has the effect of raising the conductor's conductive capacity.
Applications involving re-conductoring are suitable for STACIR/AW conductors. Without altering the tower, the current conductor can be swapped out to increase the capacity of the transmission line.

Advantages

The INVAR core and outer layer have their own knee points at the installation temperature. Reduce the sag as the temperature rises.

The conductor's mechanical strength is preserved by the thermal expansion coefficient associated with the INVAR core above the knee point, and the constant operating temperature is up to 210°C. This method calls for an experienced installation stage.
It is suitable for ACSR replacement on flat land or with small level differences.

Construction

The outer layers of the Super Thermal Alloy Conductor Invar Reinforced (STACIR) conductor are made of Super Thermal Aluminium (STAL) alloy wires, which have a maximum operating temperature of 210°C (410°F). INVAR wires covered in aluminum make up the inner core. The metal alloy INVAR has 36% nickel in steel.

Delivery lengths are determined from a consideration of such factors as physical drum dimensions, drum weights, span length, handling equipment or the customer’s request.
