What is protected aluminum wire?

Three layers make up the cover of the aluminum cable that is protected: semiconductor, XLPE, and antitracking XLPE. Designed to be distributed in commercial buildings with lots of green space, where interruptions to service are unacceptable.

Application

Chialawn Protected Cables are recommended for energy distribution networks with compact primary medium voltage. Weather and electrical routing don’t affect the covered cable. By preventing discharges and shutdowns when the overhead distribution network comes into infrequent touch with grounded objects and trees, this improves the network’s dependability.

Structure

Conductor: NBR NM 280 states that 1350 aluminum wires with longitudinal moisture blocking are compact class 2 cording.
Semiconductor thermosetting compound is used as conductor shielding (optional for 15 and 25 kV cables, even for 35 kV cables).
Gray thermoset XLPE (reticular polyethylene) material that is resistant to weathering and electrical routing is covered.

Operating Temperatures

In permanent regime: 90°C

Overload: 100°C

Short circuit: 250°C
