Application

Spacer / Tree 15kV Aerial Electrical Wire is a pre-engineered power distribution system designed for high reliability, low operating costs and improved right-of-way flexibility.
The conductors are covered with 2 or 3 layers of polymer and are designed to allow intermittent contact with ground points (twigs, etc.) without causing loss of power or nuisance tripping. The polymer resists UV degradation, tracking and abrasion.
The conductors are supported by high-strength slings that provide mechanical support, neutralize the system, and act as shielded wires for lightning protection. The conductors hang loosely below the messenger and are supported by "spacers". The insulating properties of the covering allow slings and conductors to be bundled into a compact area, allowing great flexibility in addressing right-of-way issues.

Constructions

Single cable with an ACSR conductor, a 3-layer extruded shield and covering system, consisting of an extruded semiconducting thermoplastic conductor shield, and a 2-layer covering. The covering inner layer is a low-, medium- or high-density polyethylene (LDPE, MDPE or HDPE), while the outer layer is track-resistant medium- or high-density polyethylene (TK-MDPE or TK-HDPE). All layers are bonded together.

-Conductor:
AAC (concentric stranded).

-Conductor Shield:
Extruded semiconducting thermoplastic shield which is free stripping from the conductor and bonded to the covering.

-Inner and Outer Covering:
2-layer low-, medium- or high-density polyethylene covering (LDPE, MDPE or HDPE), where the outer layer is track-resistant (TK-MDPE or TK-HDPE). All layers are bonded together. The outer layer shall be black or gray, sunlight resistant and track resistant.
